VITAMIN DEFICIENCY

07.09.2021 08:56:52 | Category Name

Vitamins are compounds that cannot be synthesized in the animal body in general but are inevitably needed for the normal course of vital functions, and they fulfill their specific tasks in all metabolic activities occurring in the organism. If the animal does not take it at the levels it needs, vital functions are also impaired, and as a result, vitamin deficiency symptoms occur. All of the vitamins for farm animals (except vitamin C under normal growing conditions) are essential, in other words they must be given to the animal from the outside. However, ruminant animals can synthesize certain levels of B group vitamins as a result of microorganism activity in their rumen.

If vitamin A is not taken at the levels required by the body in farm animals; regression in growth, weakness, wrinkles in hair or feathers, decrease in the fluid in the tear glands, night blindness, secretion formation around the eyes in adult chickens, decrease in egg production and hatchability, decrease in reproductive activity and milk yield, loss of resistance to diseases, night blindness, diarrhea and problems such as the inability of epithelial tissue to renew itself.

Vitamin D, also known as an antirachidic factor, helps the absorption of calcium and phosphorus from the intestines, increasing the usefulness of these minerals, which are necessary for bone and skeletal development. It also helps to regulate blood calcium level together with calcitonin and parathyroid hormone. It helps the crystallization of Ca mineral in the egg shell as well as in the bone.

While there is no problem in this respect for ruminant animals that receive plenty of sunlight during the day, chickens cannot convert the cholesterol in their feathers and skins to vitamin D3 since most modern poultry farms produce by artificial lighting. For this reason, it is obligatory for the intensively raised poultry to take vitamin D with their feed. On the other hand, it is necessary to add a certain level of vitamin D supplement to the ration in order to eliminate the possible deficiency in ruminant animals.

Vitamin E, also known as antisterility vitamin, is a biological antioxidant and prevents the oxidation of unsaturated fats, vitamin A and carotene. In addition to its antioxidant activity, it is known to take part in reproduction, immunity and hormone production.

In addition to vitamin E deficiency, if there is a selenium deficient diet, liver deterioration, encephalomalacia, exudative diathesis and white muscle disease are seen. Encephalomalacia is a paralysis condition characterized by crooked neck and feet of chicks.

White muscle disease is mostly shaped by the effect of selenium element deficiency in newborn ruminants. In particular, the heart muscle is greatly damaged. The animal becomes unable to stand. Long-term vitamin E deficiency causes permanent infertility in males of all farm animals, infertility in female mammals, and reduced egg laying in poultry, although it does not significantly affect egg production. Embryo deaths occur in the first 4 days of incubation due to disruptions in the circulation, as well as in the last days, and even deaths are observed after hatching.

Recommended Products

Omega Se-Vit E

It is used to protect the offspring of animals that are delayed in growth due to Selenium and Vitamin E deficiency, loss of fertility due to malnutrition, myopathies, animals that graze on selenium-poor lands or that have vitamin E deficiency in their food.

Omega ADEK

It is used for supplementation in vitamin deficiencies. It contributes to live weight gain by increasing the use of feed. Thanks to its antioxidant properties, it increases resistance to diseases. It strengthens the immune system and reduces death events.

Omega BCK Liquid

It is used to prevent problems such as weakness, loss of appetite, low incubation rate, difficulty in walking, blood clotting, decrease in egg production and shell quality due to stress, and decrease in resistance to diseases as a result of suppression of the immune system.

It is used for the prevention of conditions such as low body weight, growth and development insufficiency, inability to benefit from feed, low milk yield, fertility and inability to shed the offspring membranes, which are seen due to vitamin deficiency in ruminants.

Omega Aminochick

Thanks to the high amount of amino acids in its content, the immune system is strengthened and developmental delay is prevented. It prevents the emergence of diseases such as cannibalism, fatty liver syndrome, which occurs as a result of prolapse (partial protrusion of the cloaca) seen in amino acid deficiency. Egg size of laying hens is at the desired level and an increase in productivity is observed. It contributes to live weight gain by increasing feed efficiency in broilers.

Omega Multivit

It is used to prevent diseases caused by vitamin deficiency in animals. This product, which contains a high level of vitamins, prevents the formation of diseases such as rickets and osteomalacia by providing the hardening and development of the bone tissue, ensures the development of the visual bodies, prevents the occurrence of nervous disorders by preventing the formation of depression or stress states such as stagnation, strengthens the immune system and prevents the development of retardation.

Omega Vitav

Most of the diseases seen in poultry are due to vitamin deficiency. This product eliminates perosis, rickets, curled-foot paralysis, encephalomalacpa, muscular dystrophy, exudative diastesis, dermatitis, mouth lesions, conjunctivitis, anemia, fatty liver and kidney syndrome, excessive bleeding, sparse hairs, hatching problems and embryo problems, which cause the greatest yield loss.
